What does Animal Services and Enforcement do?

Our primary responsibility is Rabies control. State law and county ordinance requires all domestic dogs, cats and ferrets be vaccinated against rabies annually. We enforce those ordinances. Further, we protect the public by ensuring all animals are confined in a humane manner on the owner’s property. We investigate every reported or suspected animal bite. We investigate reports of animals that come in contact with wildlife known to transmit Rabies. We also impound stray animals and investigate complaints of animal abuse or neglect.
