
Kathy Mooneyham has served as the Animal Services
Director since August 2007. She is a highly trained
and qualified manager with 23 plus years of law
enforcement experience in DeKalb County. She received
a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from
North Georgia College in June 1985. Kathy was selected
by the Department and the FBI to attend the FBI
National Academy, 182nd Session – July through September
1995, receiving a semester of college credit from the
University of Virginia, including two graduate courses.
She has attained her P.O.S.T. Supervisory and Management
Certifications through the State of Georgia. She is
currently a member of AWAG, Animal Welfare Association
of Ga. This is an organization that meets quarterly and
is comprised of Animal Shelter Department Heads from all
over the State. Kathy has a strong volunteer sprit and a
deep commitment to bring DeKalb County to the forefront
of having a well run and well respected animal facility.
